Hello, all:
On Sunday, June 29th, we flew 17 sorties on a beautiful, yet still humid day of flying. The wind was blowing at about 5 knots across the runway, but it wasn’t enough to keep the flies away. We had two major milestones at the field today.  Will M. flew solo for the first time this season, and Adam P. flew his first glider solo.  Today’s flights:
  • Jose C. was up first for a flight lesson with Steve R.
  • Adam P. flew a flight lesson with Steve instructing.
  • Will flew three times with Steve along.  The third flight was a simulated rope break, preparing for his solo flight. Following the rope break, he flew the L-23 solo.
  • Dave L. took the L-23 up for a solo flight.
  • Trevor F. flew a flight lesson with Steve.
  • Dan M. flew his second FAST Kit flight, and decided to join the Club! Welcome, Dan!
  • Ryan went up next with Dave L. riding in the front seat.  Ryan is building up his flight time in the rear seat.
  • Sean S. took his Jonkers up for a flight while Ryan and Dave were finding ‘maintenance lift’.  That’s better than finding sink.
  • Dan M. went up again for another flight lesson with Steve.
  • Ending the day was Adam, who flew five quick flights with Steve while doing his final preparations for his first solo glider flight.  After those five flights, Adam flew the L-23 solo in the pattern.  This turned out to be the hangar flight!

Again, welcome to the club Dan, and congratulations to Adam and Will!

Thank you, Frank for towing for us today.

Safe soaring to all!
