Hello, all:
It was a good Thursday to fly!  The winds were light and blowing from the northeast, and the temps were in the mid 80’s.  We looked for and found thermals to the north and northeast of the airport.  They were small, and it wasn’t easy to find where their centers were.  The longest flights of the day were 31 and 28 minutes in duration, and they were earlier in the afternoon vs. later, when better thermals usually form.  Twins Sean and Trevor F, joined our club today.  Their connection to the club came from building a sailboat this past winter in Bob ‘The Boat Builder’ A’s basement.  Welcome to OSCI, gents!  Jim D and Sean F helped assemble Jeff F’s SGS 1-26B glider.  It’s ready for its Annual Inspection this coming week.
We flew 9 flights today:
– Eric H. flew his Annual Safety Flight with Steve R.
– Jim D. flew his Annual Safety Flight (ASF) with Eric H., and then flew a pattern tow and a rope break.
– Joe C. flew a flight lesson with Eric H.  It sounds like Joe is on track to fly his first solo this coming summer.
– Bob A. flew a solo flight.
– Trevor F. flew his first flight lesson with Steve R.
– Sean F. flew his first flight lesson with Steve R.
– Jeff F. flew his ASF with Steve R.
Bob D. did the towing today.
Thanks all!
